DOL Issues Employee Rights Poster For Paid Leave

(March 26, 2020)

On March 25, 2020, the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) issued the expected Families First Coronavirus Response Act (FFCRA) Notice/Poster.

The notice/poster can be found here:

Each covered private employer (with 500 or less employees in the United States) must post the notice in a conspicuous place on its premises. An employer may satisfy this requirement by emailing or direct mailing this notice to employees, or posting this notice on an employee information internal or external website.

For employers with employees who speak languages other than English, there is no need to publish the notice in multiple languages at this time. The DOL is working to translate it into other languages.

Employers do not need to share the notice with recently laid-off individuals. It only needs to be shared with current employees.

For new hires, the DOL does require that applicants who are hired be provided the notice, either by E-mail, direct mail, or by posting the notice on the premises or on an employee information internal or external website.
